Complaint and out-of-court dispute resolution procedures
Cases concerning the settlement of disagreements with the bank, consumers have the option of turning to the following conciliation bodies in whose dispute resolution proceedings the bank participates:
In case of disputes with consumers arising from the application of the provisions on distance contracts concerning financial services, consumer credit agreements and other financial aids as well as their mediation, payment service contracts, the issue and redemption of e-money and the Payment Accounts Act pursuant to Section 14 (1) Nos. 1 to 5 of the German Injunctions Act (UKlaG), the consumer conciliation body at the Deutsche Bundesbank is responsible. The request to conduct the conciliation procedure as well as other statements and communications must be sent in text form (e.g. letter, fax or e-mail) to the conciliation body. In the event of disputes pursuant to Section 14 Paragraph 1 No. 6 and 7 of the German Injunctions Act (UKlaG) with consumers arising from the application of the provisions of the German Investment Code or other provisions in connection with contracts that involve banking transactions pursuant to Section 1 Paragraph 1 Sentence 2 of the German Banking Act (KWG) or financial services pursuant to Section 1 Paragraph 1a Sentence 2 of the German Banking Act (KWG), the Consumer Conciliation Body at the Federal Financial Supervisory Authority (BaFin) shall be responsible.
